These 5 tips were written by our carpet cleaning technicians who have decades of experience dealing with and removing difficult stains.

  1. Blot up as much of the spilled wine as possible ASAP. Always blot, don’t rub the stain as you’ll matt the carpet fibres.

  2. Get some warm water or mix one tablespoon of liquid hand dishwashing detergent and one tablespoon of white vinegar with two cups of warm water.

  3. Using a clean white cloth, sponge the stain with water or the detergent/vinegar solution. Apply a little bit at a time, blotting frequently with a dry cloth until the stain disappears.

  4. If using a detergent/vinegar solution, sponge with cold water and blot dry.

  5. If all this fails to remove the stain, call Blanch & Doyle’s on 9520 5311. We have state of the art equipment that can remove most stains.
